Basically, one of the arguments against gay marriage is that the mainstream gay culture is too promiscuous. They're so slutty, how could they possibly take marriage seriously? But I think the quote's saying (and I agree) that gay couples would have the same 'goal' of marriage as straight couples, they'd behave with more fidelity. And it's the older gay couples who have had to mentally consider themselves married who would gladly have the ceremony at the drop of a hat who would establish that.
