How do i get this guy? Boys give advice!!?

Ok so I'm working as a camp counselor at this yacht club and there is an extremely hot lifeguard at the pool. I p him at least 3 times during the day but I need an excuse to go up and talk to him because i really want to get to know him. Please how should I go up and start conversation or something with him? I can't just randomly go up to him without a reason and look like a complete fool in front of everyone. Please help!!!
