I am starting a computer repair business like Geek Squad..Do I need a specific tax id to..?

Do I need a specific tax id to buy parts from a wholesaler, I don't intend to sell the parts only, I will include them with the services I provide. There are 4 major wholsalers in my area one of them Malabs and the other ASI. I am not sure if I need a resellers tax id or what I need so I can buy parts from a distributor instead of trying to find what I need at a office depot or online..any suggestions?
